This is a very interesting film. Although this film is classified as a rom-com/drama, it doesn’t feel like a typical rom-com. That’s because it doesn’t adhere to the (more or less) same story that most rom-com’s adhere to quite closely, and there are none of the typical rom-com archetypes to be found anywhere in this film. This is very refreshing. It also helps to make this film very interesting.
Overall, I think it is a very good film. However, I found the ending a bit disappointing. For me, the scene where Pat and Tiffany are competing at the dancing competition came off as saying, in effect, ‘look at these weirdos, aren’t they crazy?’ There was some element of that throughout the rest of the film, but it came off in a sweet and affectionate way, rather than in a nasty or weird way.
And then there was the ‘big move’ in their dance routine. For me, that was the most awkward thing ever to watch in a film. I’ll let you watch the film to find out what I mean, because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.
The acting in this film was superb. All of the actors in this film play their roles so believably, especially Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, which helps make this film such an awesome and believable film. Jennifer Lawrence won an Oscar for her role in this film, and I believe that she definitely deserved it.
Overall, I believe this is an awesome film, let down only by a strange and crazy dance competition.
